EMS Body Armour Requested For Paramedic Teams

The Scottish Ambulance Service has placed an order for EMS body armour in preparation for a Mumbai-style terror attack, the Press and Journal can reveal.

An elite group of paramedics, known as the special-operations and response teams, are being equipped with upgraded EMS body armour so they can treat people caught up in deadly situations.

The teams – in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow – were set up last year to go where other paramedics cannot – inside the inner cordon of major incidents known as the red zone.
